Children between 6 and 12 years old from different schools, as well as children admitted to the San Carlos Clinical Hospital, participated in an activity entitled “Design your character and participate in the game of healthy habits” organized by the Innovation Unit, within Science Week activities that have been developed in the hospital since last November 5th. The workshop was held in the Cibercaixa room located in the pediatric ward of the Hospital.
The objective of this children’s workshop was to encourage healthy habits in nutrition, through play, children in a role play chose a story between various possibilities, a favorite character and other accessories and with their imagination they built an adventure in order to help the “healthy worm” choose his apple. They also participated in a group in various games related to eating habits and physical exercise, in a participative and entertaining format.
This recreational activity is part of the activities of the European Ocariot project in which the Innovation Unit participates.
The project, currently under development in schools in Spain, Greece and Brazil, promotes healthy lifestyle habits among children aged 9 to 12 to prevent childhood obesity.
