Prof. Julio Mayol named digital personality in the 2019 SaluDigital Awards

Last Thursday, February 28, the SaluDigital 2019 Awards were presented, which reward the initiatives that during 2018 have contributed to improving the health and life of people through health technology.

On this occasion, the jury has recognized the trajectory of Julio Mayol, professor of Surgery at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Medical and Innovation Director of theHospital Clínico San Carlos as deserving of this award.

The gala was organized by Grupo Mediforum, editor of Saludigital.es. The event was attended by the Councilor for Health of the Comunidad de Madrid, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, the vice counselor of Health Fernando Prados Roa and was attended by Juan Blanco, CEO of the Mediforum Group.

This year, two nodes of the Plataforma Itemas among the winners: the Hospital Clínico SAn Carlos and the Hospital La Princesa.

STIQ Project, whose objective is to improve the quality of care, safety and the experience of the patient and their environment in the surgical circuit of the Hospital REy Juan Carlos.

– BEST PRIVATE INITIATIVE IN DIGITAL HEALTH

Humans 4 Health by Cigna, whose objective is to consolidate itself as a reference space for the exchange of knowledge in health and well-being in the company.

First Call, la primera aplicación de colaboración ciudadana en casos de emergencia a nivel mundial

–BEST MEDICINE APP

 Pain Monitor, an app designed by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, doctors and nurses specialists in pain and a computer engineer from Hospital Vall D’Ebrón.

-BEST TELEMEDICINE PROJECT

 Inhalcheck, a tool for telecare of patients with asthma and COPD.

BEST WEARABLES PROJECT

Dexcom G6, the first type of continuous glucose monitoring system.

-BEST HEALTH BLOG

EGOM, a gynecology and obstetrics blog whose purpose is to give patients quality information.

-BEST PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT PHASE

 Globin, an intelligent system of personalized advice in nutrition, supplementation, physical exercise and psychological support for cancer patients, survivors and relatives or caregivers.
The winner of this category has also received the award, 2,000 euros to continue with its implementation.

– DIGITAL PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

 Julio Mayol, professor of Surgery at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Medical and Innovation Director of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos de Madrid.

DIGITAL INSTITUTION OF THE YEAR

 Hospital Universitario de La Princesa, the award was received by its Managing Director, Fidel Illana.
