In order to avoid the risks associated with pregnancy, the San Carlos Clinical Hospital in collaboration with the UNED Faculty of Psychology and George Washington University have developed a program for the prevention of postpartum depression in pregnant women at this Hospital called ” Moms and Babies. ” Its objective is to reduce the risk of experiencing major depressive episodes and improve maternal and infant functioning in women who are at risk of postpartum depression.
Although pregnancy and childbirth are common times in women’s lives, many of them may experience unpleasant sensations during this period. Postpartum depression can have negative consequences for the baby, for the mother and also for the couple.
Specifically, the Innovation Support Unit has designed a portable cloud-based platform of interactive forms and accessible in responsive mode from mobile devices that supports such cognitive-behavioral intervention.
