Topic: DT-ICT-12-2020 – AI for the smart hospital of the future
The team from the Innovation Unit of the San Carlos Clinical Hospital (HCSC) is part of the ODIN, Open-Digital-Industrial and Networking project.
The objective of this research project, framed within the ‘Smart Hospitals’ area of the Horizon 2020 Program, is to take advantage of technology based on Artificial Intelligence to transform the provision of medical care in the main hospitals in Europe. ODIN will deploy technologies along three lines of intervention: empowering workers (AI, cybernetics and bionics), introducing autonomous and collaborative robots, and enhancing medical locations with IoT.
The work at the HCSC will seek to enhance with AI-based technology, the human and material resources that accompany the patient in their journey through the process to improve clinical care and health outcomes.
The consortium is made up of 20 partners from 11 European countries, being the coordinator of the Medtronic Ibérica SA project.
